Creating a Portable Air Cleaner For Schools

The Problem with Current Devices

Commercial purifiers are too loud, underpowered for large spaces, and costly at scale. Teachers turned them off during the pandemic because of noise.

Our Approach

We are partnering with the Center for Green Schools at the U.S. Green Building Council on two initiatives to make clean air accessible to every school:

• Target Product Profile: Together, we are creating a target product profile that will help inform and shape the next generation of air cleaning technologies — defining what schools actually need so that manufacturers can build devices that truly work in classroom environments.
• Model RFP Language & Documents: We are developing model RFP language and procurement documents, available to all schools for free, so that any school can confidently procure air cleaning solutions that will work for them — without needing to become air quality experts.
